Amy Osmond Cook, PhD, is a seasoned marketing executive and communications expert, recognized for her innovative strategies in technology, healthcare and real estate marketing. She is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Fullcast, the Go-to-Market Cloud, and has a proven track record helping multiple high-growth companies move from series A through acquisition (Simplus, 2020; PathologyWatch, 2023; Onboard, 2024). Amy founded and led Stage Marketing as CEO for 15 years, building it into a leading full-funnel marketing firm. With a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Utah, Amy has authored numerous articles and served as a prominent voice in business and healthcare communities. Her passion for empowering others is evident in her work and community involvement. She and her husband, Jeff, have five children.

Paul began his career at Peisner Johnson 16 years ago, and has since become a key figure in delivering exceptional sales and use tax services. Initially focused on preparing, filing, and amending returns, Paul now excels in guiding clients through the complexities of nexus footprints, taxability of products and services, state audits, and identifying sales and use tax overpayments. His dedication to mastering the intricacies of sales and use tax is matched only by his enthusiasm for helping clients navigate these challenges. Outside of work, Paul enjoys refining his golf game and cherishing family time with his wife and four children—two girls and two boys. Whether embarking on adventurous road trips, enjoying campouts, or catching the latest movie, Paul’s commitment to both his profession and family life adds a touch of joy to everything he does.

Brad Moss is the CEO of Enhanced Ai (the makers of FluxPrompt) – an Ai integration platform used to increase productivity in business operations, finance, sales, and marketing. He has extensive experience in Ai, analytics, Product and M&A. He has built and operated multiple successful businesses, partnering with F100 companies down to startups. Brad is passionate about using technology to help businesses and the world thrive.

10:25 AM – Insights from Venture Capital and PE: Winning and Losing in the Current Market

Kat Kennedy is a General Partner at Kickstart Fund. She is passionate about building—products, companies, and the startup ecosystem in the Mountain West. Before joining Kickstart as a General Partner, she was President and CXO of Degreed. Today, her fifteen years of operating experience gives her a unique perspective as an investor—one that allows her to not only spot talented entrepreneurs from all backgrounds but also to serve as a mentor, fostering innovation through every stage of the company’s growth.

Aaron DeRose has been a Fund manager, family office partner, and angel investor for the past 17 years in Utah. He is currently the Co-founder and Managing Director of Swell Collective, a growth-equity fund based in Lehi. Aaron is also a Partner in Swell Capital, a family office established on behalf of Jeremy Andrus. Prior to Swell, he was a Director at Mercato Partners, one of the state’s largest growth equity firms, where he served as a member of the investment committee and became involved with the boards of Skullcady, Stance, CradlePoint, Goal Zero, and Steelhouse. Since that time, DeRose has been an entrepreneur, CEO, and investor and currently participates on the Boards of Platform Accounting Group, Kiln, Alianza, MRP, and Color Factory. Aaron started his career in Southern California where he worked for Ernst & Young and Quiksilver. He is an alumni of Pepperdine University and the University of Utah.

John Smith is a Principal at Leavitt Equity Partners (“LEP”), a value-add, healthcare-focused private equity firm founded by former Utah Governor and United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, Michael Leavitt. At LEP, John leads the firm’s investments in home healthcare, behavioral health, physician practice management, payor services, and medical technology. Prior to joining LEP, John was with Comvest Partners in south Florida where he managed investments in the healthcare, consumer, and business services sectors. Prior to Comvest, John began his career in Boston at Monitor Clipper Partners, a middle market private equity fund affiliated with the Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte). John currently serves as Chairman of United Energy Workers Healthcare, a Utah-based home healthcare company, and also manages LEP’s investments in P3 Health Partners, RHA Health Services, Zing Health, and Allurion. John received a B.S. with cum laude honors from Brigham Young University. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School
